Set up your first server

Once you have finished setting up ForgePanel you can start creating your first Minecraft Server

On the Server page, you can enter a name for your Server in the text field.

Server names can be up to 20 characters long.

Development footage.

After giving the Server a name, you need to select a Minecraft Version (1.12+) and a server software.

What Software should I choose?

Vanilla: the basic version of the game, nothing more, nothing less.

Software for modded Minecraft: Forge: The recommended software for mods before 1.21 NeoForge: The recommended software for mods with Minecraft Version 1.21 and higher

After selecting the Minecraft Version and server software, just lean back and wait a bit while your Server is getting downloaded and installed. It shouldn't take that long. If you are not using Vanilla server software, this can take some time, but usually not longer than 3 minutes.

You should see a setup screen. We recommend using the Quick Setup option.

If you chose Quick Setup, you should see something like this:

The options are:

Player limit: Maximal number of players who can join your Server at the same time

Message of the day: text which is displayed under server name in Multiplayer menu

Game Mode

Difficulty

Mojang Authentication

Whitelist

Congrats, you're ready to start your server. But maybe you want to configure more, add mods or set up a whitelist before you start your journey.
